The FIT Coalition’s mission is to identify and advocate for policies that will accelerate the deployment of cost-effective renewable energy. The FIT Coalition believes the right policies will result in a timely transition to renewable energy while yielding tremendous economic benefits, including new job creation, increased tax revenue, and the establishment of an economic foundation that will drive growth for decades.

FIT Coalition submitted comments to California Air Resources Board (CARB)

The FIT Coalition submitted comments to the CARB addressing their first steps toward establishing an expansive 33%-by-2020 Renewable Electricity Standard (RES). The FIT Coalition outlines how CARB has a unique opportunity to enact a cost-effective, low-risk Feed-In Tariff (FIT) that would encourage further business investment in clean energy and help propel California toward its mandate of 33% renewable energy by 2020.  This comment submission was part of CARB's first round of public input on RES.

SMUD Introduces a Feed In Tariff for 2010

Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) plans a Feed In Tariff for
2010, up to 100 MW total, with time differentiated tariffs, and green
bonuses. Project sizes up to 5 MW, with these key differences from the
Southern California Edison pilot program:

  • Contract Terms: 10, 15, 20 years
  • Time Differentiated Tariffs
  • No Technology Differentiation
  • Tariffs based on avoided cost, value-based tariffs
  • Includes tariffs for Combined Heat & Power
